Connochaetes Taurinus a.k.a. the African Blue Wildebeest. Story behind the photo: I was on an early morning Safari drive and the mist had enveloped the surrounding landscape in some surreal, otherworldly veil. The intermittent distant calls of creatures echoed through the thick grey shroud, seemingly more eerie than usual. After about 20 minutes into the drive, I saw this lone Wildebeest whose head contorted downward every so often. This scene immediately resonated with me as, being a solitary individual myself, it seemed as if it was angst-ridden and grappling with the weight of unseen burdens. The image has had additional grain added to it.
