Frost resistant bacteria latch onto a dead tree stump during the warmer seasons and grow to become a unified sentient being unable to move. They self-reproduce and feed off their own dead, does not need to eat, stuck in place, mimics its shape after creatures it has seen. This specific one appears to have spotted a Dulpon at some point in its life cycle.
